Building a Presence for
Science (BaP) -- Building a Presence for Science is creating a national network of advocates
for science and offering them various resources, including professional development
opportunities.

of -- Access information ranging from statistics and reports to curriculum and standards.
Greater Nebraska Science & Engineering
Fair (GNSEF) -- GNSEF is a regional fair that includes much of the eastern portion of Nebraska,
bounded on the east by the Missouri River and on the west by Clay county. Anyone in grades 6-12
attending school in this region is eligible to compete. GNSEF chooses two winners of all-expense
paid trips to compete in the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair each year.
Nebraska Association of
Teachers of Science (NATS) -- The purpose of the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Science
is the advancement, stimulation, extension, improvement, and coordination of science education
in all fields of science at all levels.
Nebraska BioHistory -- Learn about
significant milestones in the historical development of Nebraska's biotechnology &
medical technology industry.
Nebraska Junior Academy
of Science (NJAS) -- The purpose of NJAS is to encourage and support student involvement
in scientific pursuits at the 6th - 12th grade levels, including sponsoring an annual science fair
competition for junior and senior high school students.
Nebraska Parent Teachers Association (PTA)
-- The Nebraska PTA's mission is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in
the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make
decisions affecting children; to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and
protect their children; and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of
this nation.
Nebraska Science Olympiad
-- The Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit organization devoted to improving the
quality of science education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition
for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. These goals are
accomplished through classroom activities, research, training workshops and the encouragement of
intramural, district, regional, state and national tournaments.
University of Nebraska State Museum
-- The University of Nebraska State Museum was established in 1871 and has steadily grown into
one of the leading research and educational science museums in the nation to be associated with
a university. The Museum collects and interprets the natural, geological and anthropological
history of the state and of the Great Plains, and holds the collections in trust for all
Nebraskans. The Museum is comprised of the world-famous "Elephant Hall", a research collection
containing over 13 million specimens, the Mueller Planetarium, the Encounter Center, Trailside
Museum at Fort Robinson, the Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park and the Larsen Tractor
Museum.
