Research Associate I/II Analytical Sciences

Description

Summary

The Analytical Sciences group at Seattle Genetics is seeking a highly motivated research associate to support phase-appropriate method development, qualification and product characterization of antibody and antibody-drug conjugate therapeutics. This person must possess working knowledge of chromatographic and electrophoretic separations, with some ability to troubleshoot instruments and method issues. With a moderate level of supervision, the successful candidate will help design and execute experiments while demonstrating critical thinking to analyze data and results. Strong written and verbal communication with a high degree of organizational skills are a plus. He/she should work effectively with others and demonstrate the ability to collaborate within small teams. With continued laboratory experience, may be tasked with training new team members on existing methods and instrumentation. Attention to detail while sticking to timelines to achieve personal and program goals is highly desired.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments and generate high quality results to support method development, method qualification, and product characterization with moderate supervision.
  • Work with supervisor and/or other team members to draft technical reports with guidance
  • Contribute to scientific discussions and present data in small group meetings
  • Assist with instrument and method troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of experience in analytical techniques common for biomolecular analysis or analytical experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work and adapt in a matrixed reporting environment
  • Technical experience with chromatographic and/or electrophoretic separations
  • Ability to apply experimental data to advance project goals
  • Some knowledge of antibody and antibody-drug conjugate biochemistry is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, biological sciences or related field
